Anime Club
Instructor: Mrs. Long
The RAWR Anime Club at Stonewall Jackson HS was formed so that students with an interest in Japanese anime, video games, manga, drawing, cosplaying, and Japanese culture would have the opportunity to interact and collaborate with their peers in a safe environment.

The term "anime" refers to a particular style of animation from Japan and other areas of Southeast Asia that is expressed in two different forms of media: animated series/movies and a written form called "manga" that is similar to American comic books. The genres covered in the thousands of different anime and manga titles are very diverse; ranging from shows based on futuristic space battle to others focused on high school sports. The advantage of such a diverse media is that there is something for everyone!

The activities of the club are primarily determined by its members and range from viewing different anime series/movies, playing video games, reading manga, drawing, card games, cosplaying, perform aces, and activities reflecting Japanese culture (ie- listening to Japanese music. language, and holidays). All activities and media watched are in accordance with school policies.

The RAWR Anime Club is open to call students currently enrolled at Stonewall Jackson HS, who are in good standing with the school in respect to the academic and behavioral policies. All that is required to join is for students and parents to sign the Anime Club Permission Slip.

RAWR Anime Club usually meets every two weeks, unless instructed otherwise.

Last Meeting and End of the Year Party
Hey Guys,

Anime Club Officers will have a meeting after school on Wednesday, May 12th.

Our last meeting of the year will be held on Monday, May 17th. We will most likely be meeting in the 1st Floor Cafeteria again, but please listen to the announcements in the morning for details. Also, since it is our last official meeting I would encourage everyone to come!

Our End of the Year Party will be held Monday, May 24th. I'll be discussing the details with our officers and will get every planned before our next meeting.

Thanks.

Marc LaRochelle
